National Cashflow Competition

The National CashFlow Competition (NCF) is a non-profit event which aims to promote financial literacy with an element of fun through the use of a financial board game. This year, we will be using Praxis® which will not only educate the participants on retirement planning, but also introduce real-life events such as retrenchments, and varying economic cycles. Praxis® provides a simulation of real life situations where students can learn to make financial decisions and manage their money. Students will learn basic financial processes like budgeting and saving, as well as more complex ones like investing in stocks and protection planning. This game also features some real life events such as getting promotions, catching illnesses and losing jobs, which will force players to make financial decisions amid different economic cycles.

This event mainly targets students from secondary schools, junior colleges, polytechnics and universities, and is open to the public. NCF 2016 saw the participation of around 550 players. Through this event, NTU-IIC hopes to inject an element of fun and spark the players’ interest in financial literacy, as well as raise awareness on the importance of planning for their financial future.
